Day 1:

7:30am Participant Registration
 
7:30 - 8:15 am Breakfast and Networking Time
 
8:15 - 8:35 am Welcome Remarks (Center, site directors; university administration - Deans VPs preferred)
 
8:35 - 9:15 am Kickoff Meeting Goals, Vision and Capabilities of the Center (Center, Site Directors)
 
9:15 - 10:00 am NSF IUCRC Presentation (IUCRC program director & Center Evaluator)
 
10:00 - 10:15 am BREAK
 
10:15 - 12:15 pm Project Proposal Presentations
  • Limit to 5 projects
  • List the project titles and time allocated to each
  • Strict adherence to presentation template
  • Make sure each project has clear milestone, deliverables for the first year and proposed budget
  • Leave adequate time for discussion
  • LIFE forms for each project must be filled out (electronic and paper) prior to start of next presentation
 
12:15 - 1:15 pm LUNCH
 
1:15 - 3:15 pm Project Proposal Presentations
  • Limit to 5 projects

3:45 - 5:00 pm IAB Organizational Meeting and Formative Discussion (IAB) Members and NSF only)
Discussion of
  • Impressions if day 1
  • Day 2 project voting process
  • Project management & mentoring framework for selected projects
  • Election of IAB Chair andChair-Elect (secretary)
 
6:00 pm Technical Forum and Social (Poster Session, Reception, etc!)

Day 2:

7:30 - 8:00 am Arrival and Breakfast
 
8:00 - 9:30 am LIFE FORM Review and Discussion (All participants - at IAB Discretion)
 
9:30 - 10:45 am IAB Meeting (IAB Members and NSF)
Projects: Discussion of proposed projects, voting and discussion of results, formulation of funding recommendation to center leadership. Finalize discussion of topics started at the day 1 formative IAB meeting.
 
10:45 - 11:00 am BREAK
 
11:00 - 11:30 am IAB Report Out, Discussion (IAB, Center and site directors, NSF)
 
11:30 - 11:50 am Action Items and Plans for Next Semiannual Meeting (IAB, Center and Site Directors & NSF)
 
11:50 - 12:00 pm Summary and Closing Remarks (Universities involved)
