The Center for Weather Innovation, Smart Energy and Resilience (WISER) is partnering with the U.S. energy sector to advance renewable energy in a changing climate. WISER is developing long-term sustainable solutions for power generation and grid resiliency to advance and transform the energy sector in the face of extreme weather and the transition to clean energy.
Using state-of-the-art weather and climate data, the Center is developing new knowledge and modeling tools that address industry problems while providing students with industry-relevant research experience. WISER's primary research areas include renewable energy, outage management, grid resiliency, and climate change impacts.
